When the World’s first international Reggae superstar, Desmond Dekker, passed away on 25 May 2006, his loss was felt most greatly among his fans, family and colleagues. Of these, few were more deeply affected than his long-time friend, singing companion and business partner, Delroy Williams.
Delroy had first bonded with Desmond back in the sixties, with the pair quickly forming a close, brotherly bond that soon led to them collaborating musically, performing at venues around the globe and recording new material for the then revitalized Trojan Records.
Together, the pair put together a new Aces band, comprising a nucleus of Brian Campbell and Aubrey Mulrain (keyboards), Gordon Mulrain (bass), Ryan Simmons (drums)and Paul Abraham (guitar), who over the next two decades provided the backbone of Desmond’s live and recorded work. But it all came to an abrupt end with Desmond’s tragic passing and despite numerous requests to take the Aces band back on the road, Delroy repeatedly refused, knowing nobody could ever possibly replace his dear ‘brother’. Now, some seven years on, Delroy has finally decided to bow to the demands of Desmond’s countless fans, after being approached by their mutual friend, the multi-talented Winston Francis.

Designated by many as the father of British neo-soul (though his impact extends to U.S. shores as well), singer/songwriter/producer Omar began as one of the U.K.'s most promising R&B hopefuls with his early-'90s international hit "There's Nothing Like This." Unintentionally avoiding pop stardom, he chose never to compromise his artistic credibility, and because of that, people like India.Arie, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, Gilles Peterson, and his biggest idol, Stevie Wonder, are all personal fans (with the prior three naming him an influence)
